All The Memories.

It's Done! My sock yarn scrap blanket (after almost three years!) is complete! All the ends are woven in and I slept with it on the bed last night!

I absolutely love looking at all the squares and reminiscing about the projects that came from certain yarns. I have a fantastic group of friends who also added scrap yarn to the pile so its been great fun seeing them look for their yarn in the blanket.

I have no immediate plans to start another mitered square blanket but I do have a few granny stripe blankets started.

My squares "formula" was a US 3 needle, casting on 32 stitches. Slip the first stitch, knit to the last two before your marker, K2Tog, SM, SSK, knit to the end. The second row is Slip the first stitch and then knit across.

The randomness of the colors and textures makes me so happy! Thanks for appreciating!

Still enjoying Man in the High Castle and joining Ginny and Frontier Dreams in their "Alongs" this week.

  1. I love it! I love how the randomness of the colors has made this so special. I've thought about starting a mitered square blanket, but don't at this point have enough sock yarn, so I"m waiting. But you're looks great!

    1. I love being able to pick through the squares and have memories of working on them. The scraps will come soon...you could also swap with people if you have some larger leftovers you could split up. There are quite a few groups on Rav!

    1. Thanks! I love it, perfect for California, not too heavy but warm enough to grab it to use.

    1. Mine is larger than a throw but not quite large enough for a twin size bed so I wasn't making as many square but I really love it! I'm going to have this blanket for quite some time.

  4. It is gorgeous. I'm not surprised you slept under it as soon as you could. Love the border. Rainbow seems the most perfect choice.

    1. I'm just so excited to have it done! The knitting has been done for awhile but the weaving in the ends took quite a bit of time!

    1. I love an icord finish, it adds the perfect amount of structure and the lovely rainbow! I would definitely give it a try. I know you've knit enough socks to have some scraps going. It's always nice to swap with people too, it's the perfect way to try new yarn.
